One-line summary: Install the standard Launch Industries email signature in Gmail so every email you send carries the brand, your contact info, your scheduling link, and the certifications + giving-back footer.
Set up your Launch email signature
Every Launch email goes out with a consistent, on-brand signature. Yours should look exactly like everyone else's — same red bar, photo treatment, contact line, wordmark, and certifications footer — with your name, role, photo, phone, email, and scheduling link in the personalization slots.
The canonical signature is rendered live at https://lids.launchindustries.biz/signature (opens in a new tab). It is the source of truth — when it changes, you update yours.
Before you start
You need:
- A Gmail account on
@launchindustries.biz - Your headshot uploaded to the Launch team-photos bucket (HR handles this for new hires; ping HR if your photo isn't there yet)
- Your direct Calendly URL (e.g.
https://calendly.com/<your-handle>)
If any of those are missing, do not improvise — get them set first.
Install (5 minutes, one-time)
If you are installing Monica's signature on her account, or your own signature has already been published to /signature
- Open https://lids.launchindustries.biz/signature (opens in a new tab) in any browser.
- Click anywhere inside the signature card → press ⌘A (Mac) or Ctrl+A (Windows) to select all → ⌘C / Ctrl+C to copy.
- Open Gmail → click the gear icon ⚙ → See all settings → General tab.
- Scroll down to Signature → click in the signature box → press ⌘V / Ctrl+V.
- Scroll to the bottom of the General tab and click Save Changes.
- Compose a test email to yourself. The signature should appear automatically.
If your signature has not been published yet (new hires)
Your manager or xOTTERx will create a personalized copy of the signature template with your photo, name, role, phone, email, and Calendly link, host it at a per-person URL on lids.launchindustries.biz, and send you that URL. Then follow steps 1–6 above against your URL instead of /signature.
For the full template + the six personalization fields (used by whoever is publishing your version), see https://github.com/Launch-Industries/brand-LIDS/blob/main/signature-install.md (opens in a new tab).
What the signature includes (don't try to recreate it manually)
- 4px red top bar (Launch signal red
#f9465c) - Your circular headshot (92×92, paper-white border)
- Your name in bold with a red dot accent
- Your role / title
- Three links on one line: your email, your phone (
tel:link), and "Schedule a meeting" (your Calendly) - Launch wordmark + "BETTER TOGETHER"
- Certifications + giving-back footer:
Launch is a WBE, DBE, LGBTQE, WOSB, EDWOSB, & CSC Certified Small Business Enterprise that contributes 10% of all profits to our community. Read about the organizations we support.
The footer's "Read" links to launchindustries.biz/givingback and is not optional. Do not delete it.
After install — verify it actually pastes correctly
Compose a fresh email to yourself and confirm:
- Red bar is visible at the top
- Photo is round (Gmail / Apple Mail) — square is acceptable for Outlook for Windows recipients only
- Email, phone, and "Schedule a meeting" are all clickable
- Wordmark image loads (not a broken-image placeholder)
- "Read" in the footer is the red, underlined link
- The whole signature appears every time you compose, not just the first time
If anything is broken, do not edit the signature inline — re-copy from lids.launchindustries.biz/signature and re-paste.
Mobile signatures (Gmail iOS / Android)
Gmail's mobile apps store signatures per-device and only support plain text, not HTML. The full LIDS signature will not work on mobile sends. Two options:
- Leave the mobile signature blank — most replies happen on desktop anyway, and your desktop signature already has everything.
- Use a one-line plain-text fallback:
[Your Name] · Launch Industries · [phone] · launchindustries.biz
Configure under Gmail mobile app → ⚙ Settings → your account → Signature settings.
What is fixed and must not change
These are brand-locked. Editing them puts your sends out of sync with the rest of the company:
- The red top bar
- The paper background (
#fbf9f4) - The Launch wordmark
- "Better together" tagline
- The full certifications + giving-back footer text
- The "Read" link target (
launchindustries.biz/givingback) - Font sizes, colors, and spacing
If you think any of these need to change, file it as a request to xOTTERx — do not edit your local copy.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Pasting shows the raw HTML code" | You copied from the GitHub markdown view or a raw HTML file. You must copy from the rendered page at lids.launchindustries.biz/signature. |
| "The photo is a square in Outlook" | Expected — Outlook for Windows does not support border-radius. Everything else renders correctly. |
| "The red bar didn't paste through" | Re-open lids.launchindustries.biz/signature in a clean tab, click inside the signature, ⌘A → ⌘C → replace your Gmail signature. The red bar is its own element and copies reliably. |
| "Photo is broken / shows alt text" | Your headshot may not be in the Launch team-photos bucket yet, or the URL in your signature is wrong. Ping HR or xOTTERx. |
| "Gmail strips my signature when I reply" | In Gmail General settings, check the box: "Insert signature before quoted text in replies." |
